Wow, it's been a while. I've come back to Georgia and was hanging about Blairsville for a while. Though, admittedly, the summer was a bit different than usual. I have big, exciting news! But I'm not telling, lol.
Angela and I got an apartment in anticipation of college. Which, by the way, starts this weekend. So we're in Canton right now, living it up like only two nerdy college kids can--watching Buffy, Angel, and Leverage nonstop while eating pizza and whatnot.
I went to New York a couple of weeks ago with Mugen. We visited Chinatown and Times Square. It was so much fun! And then, we went to Mugen's cousin's wedding--held in a beautiful Catholic church. The reception was a blast, too. His family's wicked awesome.
This semester is going to be pretty cool. I've narrowed my major down to European History, and I'm taking some pretty nifty classes. Like Fascism and Chivalry. I'm excited. I went on at length the other day about exactly how excited I am...and nearly bored Angela to tears, I'm afraid. I forget sometimes that history bores just about everyone.
Well, I have to get back to watching Angel. I'm waiting for the episode where Fred, the girl who fell through a book, appears.

Oh, look! something shiny!
Okay, so I have one more week of classes, and then a week for exams...add on another week for visiting my relatives...and i'll be back in b-ville in a little over three weeks!!
As far as my classes are concerned, i'm doing a pretty kick-ass job...if i do say so myself. although, admittedly, a couple of illnesses and one or two other problems have caused me to miss quite a number of classes...but it's all good! my grades are top-notch, superb, magnifique! kurasu wa subarashii desu yo!
so i'm not too concerned with my finals--they'll pretty much be a breeze. except for maybe ethics (but only because our professor has not given us any hint of any quizzes, exams, presentations, or essays throughout the entire semester...what does he grade us on? if our hair looks pretty?). japanese will be quick and easy, american history will be a breeze, and all i have to do is turn in a final project for medieval history. ethics, on the other hand...please refer to ( ) area above...
so, i should probably head off to buy my, what, 10th pair of headphones this school year? yeah. somewhere around there (man, those things wear out fast for no reason at all!)...hopefully the school store is still open and the earphones are still in stock. otherwise, i'll go stark raving mad...
all right! goodbye, my friends...i will talk to you again...eventually!

My Rocking Spring Break
It's spring break!! woohoo!! yeah...I'm spending the break with my grandparents, which is actually a nice, sedate pace. i love it. No craziness or rowdy parties. i can sit back, relax, and talk to some friends. hell, i might even go a little crazy and do some research for my final paper in Medieval Civilization. i know. wild, right?
for the moment, i'm at my aunt's house, helping to run herd on my little cousin (who is absolutely adorable, by the way). but, yeah. later on, i'll probably spend the night chatting it up with people. although, admittedly, i might go to sleep early (2 am! woot, woot!).
so, anywho. i should get going. oyasumi!

Snowed in at College on a Weekend
Wow. Just wow. We got snowed in this weekend at the college. And oh my god. I did not realize just how much fun people would have. Last night my entire hall...ENTIRE HALL got drunk. And the other dorms were apparently just as bad. The bathroom was filled with people getting sick, recovering from getting sick, or drunkards about to be sick but who were graciously patting their friends' backs. The halls are a complete mess. One lounge had all its furniture turned over as a particular group of nerds built some sort of fort, while another lounge had unmentionable articles of clothing scattered about the floor, tables, and couches.
Meanwhile, there was a sledding marathon out on the big hill that started at around 8 Friday night and ended about 2 this Sunday afternoon. There was so much alcohol floating about, so many tears, angry shouts, and drunken calls...
If you're wondering whether I joined in with the festivities, well, I'll tell you. I drank on Friday but only managed to get tipsy, spurned a few advances from many a guy wandering about, and then finished up the night discussing Japanese over the phone with Liz. I woke up Saturday feeling perfectly fine, and found that, while I had been sleeping, others had found themselves left with hangovers and decided to cure it with beer. Unfortunately, due to the snowstorm, many liquor stores were closed...but there was a seemingly endless supply of beer. However, as I'm only a fan of the hard liquor, I did not partake in the extreme drunkenness going on last night. I was completely sober, more's the pity. I was cried all over, ranted to, hugged three times, made to comfort, and pretty much used as a judge for any sort of argument/competition as I was--apparently--the only non-inebriated person left on campus. But so it was that I removed myself from the fray relatively early and had a six-hour chat on the phone with an old friend. We were both highly amused by the situation.
But, all in all, I have come to the conclusion that colleges should be the first places dug out from the snow. Because, really, 99% of college kids party on the weekends. Most just leave campus. But, with everyone stuck here, Arcadia was pretty much thrown into a bacchanalia. Scary stuff. But it makes for great stories later on.
Well, I should go now. The slightly tipsy fellows of my roommate have come back with pizza and I must admit to being relatively hungry, not having had anything to eat since 7 last night--this being 4 in the afternoon in the present.
